As you many of you should have heard from our weekly meetings, last weekend was FTC! Now,
10.22.12 Big News Hey everyone! Thanks for coming to visit and getting the latest news and information about ECC's CKI. It's been a few weeks since I have updated the announcements and I apologize for the lag. Midterms were busy for me last week and I really had no time to manage the announcements, but I'm done (for the most part) and here to update you! So this last Sunday, October 21st 2012 El Camino College CKI made history! As many of you know from the past meetings we had an event called Crazy Kompetition for Infants and we had six members in a group to compete. The money collected went to the Pediatric Trauma Program, and we had lots of fun for a great cause. Our team members did amazing and represented El Camino Circle K and got us recognized! If you guys see any of them this week let them know that they did a great job :) And here is a message from our club President Stephanie Munson:
Hello ECC, Words cannot describe how proud I am of you. Not just of Team Sharks at CKI South for making it to the finals. :D But of all of you. Because of all of you dedicated members and our awesome Board, we took home Marty the Metro Monkey. We got Club of the Month within Metro Division!! How awesome is that?! I really want to thank all of you for your hard work and spirit. I can tell that our upcoming year will be super awesome thanks to all of you. Thank you all! Good luck on those midterms!! :D ♥
In other news! We have lots of new and old and very exciting events coming up these next few weeks. Make sure you keep checking the events page for more information about what's coming up next! If you click on the event itself, it will pop up with the information, messages, and directions! One of the local & fun events is the Homecoming/Halloween Carnival that will be on campus at the Library Lawn on October 31st from 10 am - 2pm. All the clubs will be setting up their booths and doing different things; our club will be face painting and doing hennas so anyone with artistic skills or likes to draw come and volunteer! We'll have shifts from the times of 10am - 2pm on Wednesday the 31st, sign-up at the meeting and make sure you don't forget that our meeting October 23rd, is the Birthday Potluck so bring lots of food and munchies for everyone and yourself to enjoy :)

10.9.12 Here's an update for you guys So CKI members, it's been quite a while again since I have updated the progress of the website and I apologize for the delay, I wonder if all of you even read this...hmmm, well hopefully you do! It's week 7 of the fall semester and we're all getting ready for our intimidating midterms, but find time to de-stress with some of the events we have coming up! This Saturday, October 13th is Cal State Long Beach's service event in Costa Mesa and have lots of fun meeting everybody! Check out the events page again if you need more information, while there try to see if there are any other events going on that you would like to go to.
If you guys are interested in volunteering for any of our service events, then please email our VP of Service: Nanci Torres. She'll get you on the sign-up sheet and make sure that you can definitely go, so that rides can be arranged. IT IS CRUCIAL for you all to answer text messages and or emails you receive to make sure you are able to go. It can be quite an inconvenience to the organizers of the event to have no-shows when kind people are offering rides. But nonetheless, it's great that you're signing up! Just let us know if you can or can't make it to an event. You won't get in trouble for not being able to go at all so please do us the favor of informing us :D
The Board & Committees page is updated with facts about your Board members, read a little more about them and you might find the things you have in common with that person. Everyone at ECC CKI really would like you to become more than just a general "member", by coming to the events, fundraisers, socials, and district events you truly get a lot more out of the experiences that you can have. Although some events may cost money, they all go to a good cause or get put into good use so don't knock an event until you go to one! We all highly encourage participation and involvement within the club to promote a larger sense of community and FELLOWSHIP among us all. It's not only about the service hours we collect, but the friendships we attain in the process. Please don't forget that: it's important to not only be motivated by school and it's benefits, but enjoy the moments that you have here with us in Circle K.
10.1.12 October is here! Hey Circle K members! Since the last update there has been quite a few additions to the website. Go ahead and check them out if you have the time! We have lots of new events coming up, so keep your eyes peeled for the service events and socials you could be attending. There is now a custom Google search bar in the search tab! Please use it to your discretion; it is tailored to your CKI related questions and everything in between. If you're curious about what's been going on, make sure you fill out the sign-up form on the bottom of the home page.
I've been doing my best to continue polishing up the website and include all things useful, so there's a poll on the home page as well which I would appreciate if y'all took the time to look at so I can fix up the website even further.
***Membership applications and or fees are due by October 9th, 2012***
Please do your best to complete the membership application and turn them into our Treasurer, Joseph Montes or any other board members. If you want recognition for your service hours, your hard work, and everything else you contribute to the club be sure to have $20 for the membership fee. You won't regret it!
There are also many opportunities for all members to help out and be more involved in Circle K! Join one of our committees and contribute all of your wonderful skills to something great. At the moment our Service Committee, Tech committee, and Scrapbook committee are short in members! On the resources tab will be the corresponding applications for committee bound CKI members! Be aware that the application process is the first step, it does not mean a guaranteed spot, but when you go for your interview do your best to showcase your skills and all that good stuff!
9.18.12 Update Recently classes have been hectic and I understand that people are having exams soon, so even I haven't been able to work on the website as much. I'm hoping over the weekend even after services I can add more content to the website for all members to use. Please bear with me, it's difficult since there are many things I am hoping to get on here but there doesn't seem to be enough time. Hope you're having a wonderful week, I will work diligently on here!

9.11.12 Club Rush week As many of you know, in the Library lawn there was an array of clubs representing El Camino. We had a lot of success with recruiting new members and if you're one them; Circle K welcomes you! I hope you can have the greatest experience that you can. It really is something that is initiated by you, by coming to meetings and interacting with the many members you will have a fun time while studying in college. Remember the Executive and Appointed Board (or E and A-Board for short) are going to be your cheerleaders and helping you with anything once you're set on becoming a Circle K member.
9.7.12 Welcome!
Currently this is the website for both prospective and current members of El Camino College Circle K! It's still a work in progress, to say the least. I'd appreciate it if you could take the time to look through it and tell me if you have any suggestions or tips for making this website more functional. If you can scroll down to give me your opinion(s) with a poll I've created below, please feel free to vote!
I'm having a difficult time with some of the widgets and features that I'd really like to have on here, but alas I am only a college student with no real expertise with HTML or CSS coding. Even though that might be extremely helpful in my situation I can only ask of my committee to help me with updating the website weekly or daily (at most) to have the website in the best condition it can be.
